Extractor Hoods

A good extractor hood removes steam, grease and food odors before they settle on kitchen surfaces and spread to the rest of the home or room.

Whether you are looking for a cooktop hood, one with a motor or central extraction, we can help you find what suits your needs - whether it is to cope with the smell of food from dinner or the smell from a commercial kitchen.

Z-venti advises on, delivers and installs hoods and hood extraction for both private and commercial purposes, from Roskilde to Copenhagen.

What exactly does a extractor hood do?

For private individuals

  • Less moisture and condensation : Cooking releases large amounts of water vapor. If not removed, it can settle on windows and walls and over time increase the risk of mold. Read more about moisture and indoor climate

  • Fewer odors and less grease: Grease deposits on cabinets, tiles and ceilings. An efficient extractor hood makes cleaning easier and keeps the kitchen fresher.

  • Better air to cook in: Frying and deep-frying can release particles and smoke. Extraction at the source keeps the air cleaner while you're at the stove.

  • More comfortable living: Food odors and steam do not spread to the living room and bedrooms, especially in open kitchen-dining room solutions.

For business

  • Good working environment : In restaurants, cafés, canteens and commercial kitchens, heat, steam and grease fumes affect both staff and comfort. Effective extraction provides better working conditions.

  • Hygiene and cleaning : Less grease on surfaces and in channels makes it easier to meet hygiene requirements.

  • Fire safety: Grease deposits in filters and ducts can pose a fire risk. Regular cleaning and servicing is therefore important. Read about ventilation cleaning .

types of extractor hoods

Wicker hood
Mounted on the wall above the stove and is the most common solution. Suitable for kitchens where the stove is against a wall.

Island hood (island hood)
Hangs from the ceiling above a stove on a kitchen island or peninsula. Visually fills more space and often requires a longer duct run.

Cabinet hood and built-in hood
Is integrated into a wall cabinet or behind a front panel and takes up almost no space. Practical in smaller kitchens, but typically has a more limited grease filter area.

Telescopic hood
A pull-out hood that hides in the cupboard when not in use. Cheap and space-saving, but often less efficient than larger models.

Ceiling hood
Mounted in the ceiling or integrated into a suspended ceiling. Gives a tidy look and fits well in modern kitchens.

Table hood (downdraft)
Raised from the kitchen counter when cooking and draws the steam downwards. A design choice where there is no room for a traditional extractor hood.

Commercial hoods
Professional hoods are built with more powerful extraction, large grease filters and ducting that is sized for the kitchen's load. They are often adapted to the equipment and kitchen size.

exhaust to the outside or recirculation

External extraction

Vents steam, odors, and moisture out of the building via a duct. This is generally the most effective solution for dealing with moisture and odors.

Recirculation (charcoal filter)

Cleans the air and blows it back into the room. This can be a solution where ducting is not possible.

We will take care of the whole process.

Installation

We begin by assessing your kitchen and your specific needs: the size of the kitchen, the required length of the ductwork, and the designated exhaust point. You will then receive a clear, transparent quote. We handle the installation, ductwork, and final connections, ensuring the range hood operates both efficiently and quietly.

If your home is equipped with a ventilation system featuring heat recovery, it is crucial that the range hood is connected correctly to avoid disrupting the system's balance. We ensure this is taken into account during the installation process.

Service and Maintenance

Grease filters require regular cleaning or replacement, and carbon filters (used in recirculation systems) must be replaced periodically. In commercial kitchens, the regular cleaning of filters and ducts is especially important. We offer comprehensive service and cleaning, so you don’t have to worry about it.

Together, we will find the right solution for you.
